Caritas supporting marginalised communities three years after Nepal earthquake

Three years after the Nepal earthquake, which killed 9,000 people and injured more than 22,000, Caritas Australia continues to restore infrastructure, livelihoods and community wellbeing in the earthquake prone country.

Through our International Network, Caritas Australia is working with Caritas Nepal to build earthquake and disaster resistant houses to equip communities against future risks.

Involving to the global blindness prevention and advocacy in giving voice to our collective commitment to universal eye health, Caritas Takeo Eye Hospital (CTEH) hosted the World Sight Day was on October 13, 2014 at the hospital supported by corporative partners to highlight the attention to avoidable blindness and rehabilitation where are available services locally. This year 2014, the called to action for the World Sight Day is “No more avoidable Blindness”...

EAO Good Night Talk (49) – Dili, Timor Leste — Dear Friends and Salesian Family members, receive a heartfelt Easter greetings again from Dili, Timor Leste, one month after our annual EAO meeting of provincials and delegation superiors. Yesterday I have returned from the short intermediary General council meeting in Rome, where we discerned with the Rector Major the theme and path towards the next General Chapter 28 (2020).

St. Mary of Magdala Parish Commemorates her Patron Saint

The church of St. Mary of Magdala in Kilometer 11, celebrated the feast of St. Mary Magdalene the patron Saint of its church. Parishioners believe that this is a place, where the Saint takes care of and intercedes for the Church.

The celebration was held in Svay Pak village, Phnom Penh’s Russey Keo district on the 16th of July 2017 with Bishop Olivier Schmittaeusler as the main celebrant of the Holy Eucharist. The event saw many Catholics from other parishes attending.

Sharing stories of parents of children living with disabilities

Three parents of children living with disabilities shared the concern about their children’s learning and requested for more school for them who need special need, care and support for their education.

Mr. Sor Chan Rithy, 61, a father of a child with Autism spoke about parenting’s experiences, struggling, and support his family has given to his son. Life was tough to get to know that their child is diagnosed Autistic but nothing can change.
